[UPDATE 3] Here are Vincent's remarks from the event:

First, let me say thank you -- thank you to my friend Mullins McLeod. He and I started on a journey together almost one year ago, a journey that has taken us from Aiken to Horry - from Prosperity to Pawleys.

During that time I have grown to respect Mullins for his drive, his energy, and his dedication to improving South Carolina. He has reminded us at every turn, that politics and government should be for the benefit of our citizens and NOT the special interests who attempt to control elected officials through high paid lobbyists and influence.

Mullins is the best speaker on the stump, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Mullins, it is a high honor, and I am extremely excited to have your support. We will work together to help lead this state forward.

Ladies and gentlemen, there is a new generation of leadership stepping forward in the Democratic party, and even more importantly, a new generation of leadership in South Carolina. We join hand-in-hand with those who have fought the battles before us -- who have pushed for economic growth for all people, supported high quality public education, and worked to conserve our natural places.

We believe in family, we believe in hard work, we believe in our state. We are proud of South Carolina, and we want to be proud of her leaders again.

Right now helping to create jobs for our people is job number one. We must get our state government working again. Our current leaders have made a mockery of the system, and it's up to us to right it.

I am proud to stand here with Mullins McLeod. I am excited to have his support. I look forward to continuing to travel this state as together we continue this transformational effort in our state's history.
